Responses To The Atlanta Commercial Buildings Energy Efficiency Orginance Pt.2 March 2, 2015

Monday, March 2, 2015

The Atlanta Commercial Buildings Energy Efficiency Ordinance is comprised of four main parts: benchmarking, transparency, energy audits, and retro-commissioning. The ordinance details the types and sizes of buildings subject to the requirements and recommendations of the ordinance and includes the timeline for the phased-in approach currently under consideration. Since this is a draft, it is not guaranteed that this is the exact version that will be brought before city council. As is common in most legislative procedures, it is subject to change.

As a follow-up, the Office of Sustainability and City Energy Project (CEP) are also providing our responses to a series of questions received from our stakeholder community on this page. This should clarify a number of questions we’ve received about specific provisions of the ordinance. The responses are grouped by area of the ordinance to make for easier navigation of the questions and answers.
