The Atlanta Commercial Buildings Energy Efficiency Ordinance is comprised of four main parts: benchmarking, transparency, energy audits, and retro-commissioning. The ordinance details the types and sizes of buildings subject to the requirements and recommendations of the ordinance and includes the timeline for the phased-in approach currently under consideration. Since this is a draft, it is not guaranteed that this is the exact version that will be brought before city council. As is common in most legislative procedures, it is subject to change.
As a follow-up, the  Office of Sustainability and City Energy Project (CEP) are also providing our responses to a series of questions received from our stakeholder community on this page. This should clarify a number of questions we’ve received about specific provisions of the ordinance. The responses are grouped by area of the ordinance to make for easier navigation of the questions and answers.View PDF Document
