Atlanta Commercial Buildings Energy Efficiency Ordinance Pt. 5 March 6, 2015

Friday, March 13, 2015

Here you will find the most recent draft proposal of the Atlanta Commercial Buildings Energy Efficiency Ordinance, currently under consideration by the City of Atlanta.

The ordinance aims to capture cost-effective energy efficiency opportunities, track city-wide energy performance, spur economic development, increase the attractiveness of Atlanta, improve public health, and reduce our overall environmental footprint.

The ordinance is comprised of four main parts: benchmarking, transparency, energy audits, and retro-commissioning. The ordinance details the types and sizes of buildings subject to the requirements and recommendations of the ordinance and includes the timeline for the phased-in approach currently under consideration. Since this is a draft, it is not guaranteed that this is the exact version that will be brought before city council. As is common in most legislative procedures, it is subject to change.
